It uses a (for all customizable screens common) custom status line on top with play/record mode icon (alternated record source icon on record screen), current time (alternated key lock icon), accu power in percent and a graphic accu power/loading icon. The alternate info on the whole statusline is a graphic volume indicator on changing volume, a decimal volume indicator a short time after changing volume and a alternating decimal accu power/remaining time until power of (if activated) info. The wps shows artist, track, album, cd number/track number/number of total tracks and year from id3 tag or some info from filename/drirectory if available. It shows on the left the shuffle mode icon (if activated). It shows also on the left (alternating) the used codec and the sampling frequency. It shows on the right side the icons for the different repeat modes (if activated).It shows also on the right side the bitrate of the codec (white on CBR encoding, green on VBR encoding). On the bottom it shows a progress indicator for the current song with decimal time played and time to play info for the current song. Finally it shows the number of the current played song within the current playlist and the total count of songs in the playlist. The fms screen show rds info station name and station text, or station name from preset list and current tuning frequency if rds info is not available. It shows on the left a scan/current position in preset list info, a graphical signal strength indicator, a decimal signal strength indicator and a green stereo or white mono icon on input signal strength above 5dbuV. Finally it shows a graphical tuning frequency indicator, the upper and lower tuning frequency limits and the current tuning frequency in the center of the bottom line (and on unfilled lines for rds info (above)). The record screen is extended by the current sampling frequency (white on mono, green on stereo), codec and bitrate information on mp3 encoding. This both info fields flicker because custom recording screen is not supported by Rockbox and it's quick and dirty patched inside at the end of the .sbs file. The theme shows a status line at the bottom with song info when not in wps or fms screen, if a song is in play or pause mode, or the station info if the tuner is in tuning or mute mode. Maybe it's possible on future Rockbox versions, to get a stereo/mono tag from the decoder of the current played song (my audio books are normally encoded in lame mono Q0, VBR8 if they realy don't include stereo content). The image size of each included image is minimized to reduce memory consumption of the skin (because the founf nice graphic for volume adjustment is very big). I also have taken some ideas from BBW. However, I have made several modifications and added new features. The status bar shows, from left to right, the play mode icon (which blinks when playing), the numeric volume (with overdrive check), the numeric battery, the battery icon (customized and with low lever warning) and the time. The second line shows files information: bitrate, file format and frequency. The main part of the WPS screen shows 2 groups, horizontally centered: artist with album title first and then song title with track number. The song title is colored so that it draws the user's attention. The track number toggles to the next song title every 10 seconds. At the bottom, the progress bar and below it the current time in song, the total track time and the remaining time in song. Pausing the playback displays the album art centered on screen whilst the first line of the status bar is still visible. The art is resized to 88x88 pixels to be entirely visible. To deal with this, I've gone with a largely black-and-white approach, which makes it a little more readable when used outside on a bright day. I've also made volume changes much more apparent than on my Cleanscreen theme. (Album art is still viewable by locking the screen.) This is actually my preferred theme, as I'm usually outside running when I'm using the Clip Zip. After selecting this theme, you may need to restart your device. When you want to connect your device to your PC via USB, you may need to switch to another theme, particularly rockbox_failsafe. (Rockbox has a known issue in this regard with certain themes on the Clip Zip.) The only analogy that allowed me to get my head around this statement was to Spinal Tap's "these go to 11" volume controls, so for kicks I decided to make a theme along those lines. On the While Playing Screen, this theme provides only the most desired information, using a medium-sized open sourced anti-aliased font (SourceSansPro, included). It displays album art, but only when you change volume or lock the device. On the FM Screen, the theme does not display RDS information (it's too buggy in my region), but it will display any available preset information. After selecting this theme, you may need to restart your device. When you want to connect your device to your PC via USB, you may need to switch to another theme, particularly rockbox_failsafe. It incorporates the improved battery display of the Accurate Battery Edition, while maintaining compatibility with the 12 hour clock (user configurable through Rockbox settings menu). Original code was written by Ludovic Jakimon, I just moved things around a bit to fit the 12 hour clock display, and used the clock display code from the non-ABE version. Otherwise this is simply a color variant. Changes for v1.11 - Adjusted graphical battery display location so that it no longer cuts off the percentage sign from the numeric battery display when the battery is 100 percent charged. - Removed white space at the end of all code lines. This fixed a bug that caused the clock display to sometimes shift its position. - Changed the backdrop for the SBS screen so the progress bar background is now the proper height. Also includes all fixes from 1.1 (see the included changelog file). Thanks to lebellium for all the help in getting these issues sorted out, and for the fantastic themes that this is based on. I didn't realise the time elapsed was showing as time remaining. Now it's fixed. Check out the battery charging animation. In fact, all the Animations. A moving star-field, which increases in speed as you FF & RW, and changes your track duration, ground effects, the little UFO, the volume animation which is like a signal or communication to/from the UFO, console showing the the Alien Face made from Peak Metres, and of course the brilliant peak metre displays to the sides of the Alien Face. (V1.2 The concept is that of first contact with Aliens. That's a clock on the left from top to bottom HH/MM/SS & date on the right YY/MM/DD. I don't own a Zip, so this has just been checked using the Simulator. If you spot anything that needs changing, please get in touch - KiwiCam on IRC or through the Forum. Enjoy. Ported from Clip+ theme but with added Zing. V1.2 - Added a left and right peak metre. Changed the "ground" animation bitmap to 96 wide and not 128.
